Point D'Ironie #22: Gilbert and George

"For the second time and because we admire them
so much, Gilbert & George are back with a new
issue of Point d’ironie. Their art life together
began during the late 1960s, when they were
students at the Saint Martin’s School of Art in
London. Known for their tailored suits,
Gilbert & George present themselves as living
works of art, and develop their signature style
through brightly colored pictures, videos,
drawings and living sculptures.
In this issue of Point d’ironie, created for their
exhibition The Art of Gilbert & George, 2001,
personal ads taken from the newspaper are
juxtaposed with a triptych Class War - Militant
- Gateway, highlighting the relationships between
individuals and the communities to which
they belong."
